Notes by NW celebrates the music and the musicians with roots in the Pacific NW. Artists range from the Wailers and Ventures from the 1960s, to Ray Charles and Quincy Jones, each of whom lived in Seattle and met with they were 16 and 14; to icons like Kenny Loggins and Heart; Jimi Hendrix, of course; the grunge bands and their offspring; and contemporary artists like Brandi Carlile and The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio.

Here's the unfiltered back story: I'm on a new station. Not a Luddite, but old(er), tonight was my first solo on-air, and without the kind help of DJ Eric, it might not have happened at all. So to spare you the gaffs on my part, here's the talented artists from the land we call Cascadia in their purest form-without commentary from yours truly. Next week will be better. I know.
