Notes by Northwest
Notes by NW celebrates the music and the musicians with roots in the Pacific NW. Artists range from the Wailers and Ventures from the 1960s, to Ray Charles and Quincy Jones, each of whom lived in Seattle and met with they were 16 and 14; to icons like Kenny Loggins and Heart; Jimi Hendrix, of course; the grunge bands and their offspring; and contemporary artists like Brandi Carlile and The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio.

Tonight was the debut of Radio Cascadia, featuring alt, singer songwriter, and some folk artists from 2000-now (not right now, but close enough) with a primary focus on the myriad of artists from the North Olympic Peninsula. We'll also feature artists in the same genre from the land we romantically call Cascadia--Washington, Oregon, and the not 51st state, British Columbia. Each show ends with a poem about the PNW, including this one. Its different from Notes by Northwest because of the local focus.
In a feat that said could not be done, the premiere show featured all artists from the amazing little town of Port Townsend, or songs about the city that at one point was bigger than Seattle. In many ways, we still are.
