Notes by NW celebrates the music and the musicians with roots in the Pacific NW. Artists range from the Wailers and Ventures from the 1960s, to Ray Charles and Quincy Jones, each of whom lived in Seattle and met with they were 16 and 14; to icons like Kenny Loggins and Heart; Jimi Hendrix, of course; the grunge bands and their offspring; and contemporary artists like Brandi Carlile and The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio.

It got louder as the three hours progressed. Tacoma sound in the first hour (albeit with a Stooges cover of Louie Louie by the Kingsmen), contemporary mellow-ish in the second hour, and pretty grungey in the final hour, including a solo Kurt Cobain and a Nirvana song to commemorate the passing of Kurt Cobain 30 years ago. We're all getting old.
